  1. Up to you. Kit comes with taps/connectors but I prefer to splice in and used heat-shrinked connections.
  2. Anyone using EFI Live? If yes, were you able to tune the 2014's trans?
  3. Did you get any spare O-rings with your kit? (sometimes they include, sometimes they forget to) If so, try changing rings on fog bulbs and they might fit better. Butyl rubber around the base will help hold them in and keep out moisture
  4. It's virtually impossible to get an accurate representation of a light's output if the camera is facing the source. Might look cool but offers no real comparable information. The best proof of brightness is to park about 50' from a plain wall (painted white if possible) and take pics of the wall, first with only the headlights on and then again with only the aftermarket lights on. And don't forget to mention if your headlights are stock, 35w HID, or 55w HID in the picture posting.
  5. Item not yet released to Helm from manufacturer. The item will be available on 9/1/2014. Grrrrr!!! They pushed the service manuals back yet another 6 months!
  6. That stinks.
  7. I had my parts guy check, but with just the standard GM parts software he wasn't able to locate it (I know he's not BS'n me b/c it's the same guy that hooks me up with diagrams and part #'s all the time) He did say the connector part number might be in some other service/tech doc that he didn't have access.. but he was able to give me the doc number (don't have them on me right now) and said a larger dealership might have access to it. I didn't proceed b/c that's way too much effort for something solved with three cheap connectors. ha
  8. You can use these. I think they're 0.11" or a size similar to that..? Most of the national chain auto parts stores have them. Two things to add: 1) Make sure you cover them all the way to the tip with heatshrink or elec tape. The pins under dash are really close to each other & you don't want to pop a fuse by touching two at the same time. 2) Sometimes the tips on these are pre-crimped too tight. I like to use a small nail under each curved edge to loosen them a tad.
  9. The only component you might have to worry about them not honoring the warranty for is the ball joints. When my old GMT-900's went out at 25K, my dealer changed them under warranty despite the truck having a leveling kit.
  10. The install? Probably not. You should be fine with just the posted instructions.. it's not a difficult install.
  11. ~~> moved to 2014 "Gen V Small Block Engine, Drivetrain, & Exhaust" sub-forum ~~>
  12. That's absolute BS! Dealers always pull that "will void your warranty" line even though the law clearly states they can only deny a warranty claim if they can prove the customer's modification caused the part failure. If you use GM original parts and something does go wrong down the road, 90% they'll never even know you installed it and assume it came that way from the factory. When you pulled off your existing overhead panel, there was no Home Link wiring harness unused / tied off? Usually GM installs the complete harnesses and just ties off the unused connections (example: the 4WD & trailer brake plugs are unused behind my left panel). The end of the HomeLink harness is small & flat, similiar to a HDMI plug but 1/3 the size.
  13. The 2014 factory running boards will fit on the 2007-2013 trucks without modification, so assuming Rampage uses the same mounting points as factory, you should be ok.
  14. No, but you do have to remove the passenger side air box to gain access to the rear of that side's headlight. I just unscrew the rear caps, barely pull back to open a tiny slit, then spray, and close. Usually will do it a few times, pausing maybe 2 or 3 mins between each to let the air inside settle. Yes, it's behavior of an OCD madman, but oh well. ha Unfortunately, I did notice a tiny bit of condensation in one of my headlights recently, so looks like water is still finding its way in. Eventually, I'm going to pull the entire housings out and cover every possible seam with clear silicone... until then, I'll just have to respray every couple months. FYI: If you don't have access to nitrogen (or argon) gas, they sell it in spray cans for "wine preservation" purposes...
  15. Can you post a close up daylight pic with the lights all off?
  16. I'm going to clean out all but the most recent couple pages of the "Post Pics of Your 2014+" topic, so when you browse, it's only picture posts... less scrolling.
  17. ***Would you guys object if I merged this topic with the "Post Pics of your 2014*" pinned topic, so all the K2 truck photos were in one place? Thanks, -Moto
  18. Here's the old design: I'm really curious to see yours!
  19. That's what the dealer told you? Or can you visually see the differences? If so, what are they specifically? Pics? Thanks.
  20. CorvetteOJ - did you add a lower grille insert?
  21. If you look at the pic below, with my LED reverse bulbs and LED light pods, the camera display ends up showing some greens, blues, and even a hint of purple. ha
  22. My guess: the intensity (I have two Rigid Duallys under my bumper) and/or the wavelength of the light plays tricks on the camera...? I'm honestly don't know. I'll try to remember to take a pic later tonight. As for lights in bumper steps, check the depth before buying anything. I have strobes in mine and they barely fit. You only have about an inch between the plastic and the truck bed.
  23. Did a "bead installation" earlier this week
  24. They won't. Visibility in camera increases... only side effect is the center of the beam pattern will sometimes appear to be odd colors instead of white-ish.
