If Gm Only Made One Pickup Would The Name Plate Matter?

Just curious that if GM ever dropped one of their full size pickups and you only had one to choose from would you still buy a pickup from GM?

This probably won't go over well, but... This is the first GM product I have ever owned. So, I don't have a lot of brand loyalty built-up yet.. It wouldn't matter to me if they had 1 offering to 20, I'll buy the make & model (GM or not) that best fits my wants & needs.

I wouldn't NOT buy a GM pickup, if they did away with GMC. But, I can't sit here and say "yeah, I'd buy a Chevy, if that's all GM made," without qualifying it with "as long as it's the best choice for what I want & need."

Absolutely. There is no doubt that if GMC changed their name (and they probably will), I would still buy their trucks. It is either I drive a GMC, or I walk  .

For me it would depend on what it looked like, what features it had ect. ect.

I have a 2006 Silverado Z71 , I had a 2002 GMC Z71. I like the GMC syling back in 02 better but chevy was ok, then in 03 I was not that wild about either of them and went to a F150, and again in 04 F150, then in 05 I went to Dodge, then Chevy made revised the 06 and it looked a lot better then before, so I went back to chevy ect. ect.

Right now. I still have not got use to the chevy styling, but I am ok with and sort of like the new GMC syling. So if there were not a GMC today and I needed a truck today, I would not buy the current Silverado, I just can't seems to get on board with the way chevy has the overstated fenders all bulged out.

I have alwasy been glad they had 2 versions, that way, GM always had two shots at getting it right at giving me what I like.

I would buy one as long as it suited my needs and I liked the body style. If I didn't like the body style and the vehicle didn't work for me, I wouldn't buy it.

I always heard that they came down the same line,(not sure if thats true) if so, why not do chevy's one year and GMC's the next, just curious,, ed

I would in a heart beat, if it were the right tool at the right price at that time.

Oh yea, and the new name of the company has been approved. They had to get an old boat engine/outdrive maker to drop any claim on the new "OMC".

I figured GMC would be out instead of Pontiac.

They do not plan to drop GMC because the surveys have shown most who buy GMC consider it to be more of a luxury truck and if it was not available, those people would not buy Chevy, they would move to Toyota, Ford or Dodge.

That's just dumb. Picking a vehicle based on your needs. What's next?

Normally yes, but I am not sure I would have bought a GMT900 Chevy with that uglyass front end. :D

 That was part of the "want" I was talking about in my post, last night. If the Silverado had been the only GM truck, back in '07, I probably never would've looked at 'em...:D
