Roaring Sound From Front End

Recommended Posts

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra, I have noticed in the past few weeks a kind of a roaring sound coming from I think the front left area of my truck, I can hear it more as I come to a stop. It kind of reminds me of how those big mud tires sound as you are coming to a stop, though I don't have those on my truck. The only thing I could think of would possibly be that maybe a wheel bearing could be going out??

Sounds like u have a hub bearing thats goin bad. If u can get it to a shop to put on the hoist. U can get it of the ground and listen and if thats where its coming from.

X2. Unless your tires are WAAAYYYY overdue for a rotation.

its a wheel bearing. i have known it to be a problem on at least 3 other gmt800 trucks and i had mine replaced on my gmt900 last week. dont keep riding like i did, cause when it goes its some scary swirving. i barely made it home and the truck had to be towed in to the dealer.

Thanks for the responses guys, I was thinking wheel bearing, but wasn't for sure. I will have it looked at this weekend. Thanks again.
