I just noticed it on the rear of an 04 yukon 2500 xl the drivers side is 1 1/2 lower than the passenger side, I crawled under and looked at everything and see nothing wrong. What else could it be but a bad autoride shock.

There are no lights on in the dash. could there just be a leak at or in the shock/ air connection. please help.

it wont be a shock cuz they dont control how high your vehicle sits...look for a broken leaf spring...its is the front corner sagging or the rear? i would deff look at your leaf springs man

Torsion bars need adjusting. Over time one may have weakened more than the other. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks guys for your help, the rear leaf springs look fine, when i first got the truck i noticed a diffrence in height in the front, and the torsion keys were off. maybe because the previous owner had a plow. but i re adjusted them and the front is right on now. its just the back 1 1/2 is noticible. even the frame looks ok. What else could it be

If the front is level and the rear is off an inch and a half, you have something bent. On a ladder frame vehicle "what the front does, the rear does". Frame flex of 1/4 inch would not be cause for alarm but 1 1/2 inches is way too much. This means the vehicle is twisted from front to rear... possible from a collision or other old frame damage.

Thanks for the replys, when i checked the car fax it showed an accident but when i checked the police report and actually talked to the officer thatwas there. he said it was just the trailer that was damaged. i guess the guy backed into a dith with his boat and trailer but would something so minor like that affect the hd frame of this truck. What else do you guys think it could be? As far as the shocks and autoride go i think im going to put 4 brand new rancho or bilstein, and just forget about this autoride. i dont mind if it rides like a truck/

I would think Autoride shocks would definitely affect ride height. Torsion bars on the REAR of a 2500?

The Autoride system on the 2500 is only an electronically controlled variable dampening shock setup. There is no ride height adjustment feature on the 2500 like the 1500 has.

Chill... nobody said anything about torsion bars on the rear of anything. Leveling the front side to side should level the rear. The body shell is after all ONE UNIT. There isn't much flex in it and the difference he is talking about can only be the result of a bent frame/body. One end doesn't just bend while the other is straight... doesn't happen.

Thanks jim, so were should i even start to look, ive been over and over the truck now i cant see anything. i have an appt at the gmc dealer but id hate to pay them to find something i can.

Also just say something is bent. could i put a 1" block on the high side and a 2" block on the low side. would that take care of the physical sight of the unlevel in the rear. thanksagain

Maybe it got a little bit twisted when the trailer accident happened. Probably a simple fix on a frame machine if it bothers you that much. I am not insinuating that the truck is beyond repair.

Good luck man!

When i bought my 2002 silverado i had the same problem, it turns out that one torsion bar was undone a little more then the other, which caused the drivers side to be lower.

man take a tape measure and measure from the FRAME down not the bumper...get the whole thing off the ground on stands put that tape measure too work...look for a sacked out torsion bar...probably not the case, check cab mounts sometimes they crack and rot off...get urself a flat surface keep in mind you gotta measure off the frame before you get it off the ground...in each corner...if you get diff measurements by an inch and a half on the ground and then off...you got urself a twisted frame...look at the torsion key bolts and nuts make sure they arent stripped...i would bet on a twisted frame my freind
