Well I got the Greystone Metallic paint. (Picture of the truck below)

I'm going along with the black door handles and mirrors with: black low profile tool box, Black nerf bars, white walls always in on the tires.

 

So now my question is... If i go over the rail with the bedliner do you think it will be too much black on the truck? Just like there can be too much chrome

I don't think it'll be too much. But if you're worried about it, you could always get the Line-X color-matched

I dont think so cause it lays flat anyway..Not really noticebale..Just protect that rail on the bed..I got it on mine and I have a whie GMC and it looks fine..

I think it will look good as long as you don't go with all black wheels. (Could never understand why people like those wheels...)

No not planning on going all black wheels... I am gonna tint out the windows though and get them darker. Overall I think it'll look real good. Especially when i get bigger tires on it

I am getting my 6" lift with 35's on Tuesday..I will wait before I post pics..I will include bedliner pics then..

 

Awesome, what kind of bedliner do you have? I'm for sure going Line-X though... Just gotta find the money and time to do it.

 

Anyone know how long it takes?

Wow that looks really nice. I'm just not to wild about people sanding on my truck that I just dropped 30k on... haha It scares me a little....

Then hold off on the bed coating until it's all scratched up like I did. That pristine paint in the bed just scrapes and scratches up in a short while of hauling things. I threw a rubber mat in the bed and haven't looked back. Well, I was looking at the tailgate today and it's scratched up pretty well. Might be time for Rhino or LinEx, but it'll either be gray or the body color. Every black sprayed bed I've ever climbed into, the black stuff was all over my jeans like charcoal. I'm putting a Snugtop shell on it in a couple weeks, so I'll probably forget about the spray liner.

Yeah, I mean I have some scratches in it right now I just know how dumb people are in this world today and dont' wanna get a shotty prep job or have them sand half the truck down haha

 

In other words its hard to trust people nowadays to do a decent job... which is sad

 

How long did it take to prep and all that for your truck? When I get mine I'll have to go into Memphis which is like a 45 minute drive for me... and I don't have a whole lot to do in Memphis....

I got the reg plascitc bedliner..And for the slippery part, yeh it is..But I painted on the raised ribs that rubbery paint to give it grip cause I got sick of everything sliding around..It works..

Have Line-x sprayed on mine, but only under the rails as didn't like the appearance of the truck I saw that was over the rails. Knowing now just how flimsy these NBS bed rails are, would have sprayed the rails. If you are serious about using the toolbox, then spray the rails because you will likely be buying plastic rail caps shortly to cover the carnage.

Thanks for the thread...as you may have seen, I'm shopping for a bed liner now too.

 

What you just said is what scares me. I seem to have horrible luck with anyone touching my vehicles, so if 1 in 1,000 customers get a really F'd up job, I'm the one who will. At least with that Penda liner, it does remove some of the dipshit factor on the installer end. Add to that double the cost and having to find rides to/from work to get Line-X done, and that Penda looks even better.

There are lots of threads on here about bedliners. I personally own and recommend:

You can get them from distributors or directly from the GM dealer. If you go to the website they will send you a free sample (about 4"x4" square). Nothing slides in the bed, they don't scratch up your bed to install it, and it makes the bed easier to climb/crawl in (soft on the knees!).

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉

      Probably not their first rodeo, so it should go as planned most likely.  Typically the service manager or tech doing the swap will put some seat time to shake it down after they get it all put back together.  We usually put 50-100mi before we hand them back so if something happens, its not after you get it.  A coolant leaks, oil leaks, a ground left off or loose, vibration, etc.     The new engines so far have been good?  There's been a couple that have popped out there again (the replacement engine) but most have been okay.
