Odometer Error

I haven't used my truck in a week because I was away. When I got in it today to go to work it went from having 35757 miles on it to 599871. Then I stopped to get gas and when I started it back up it had the correct mileage on the odometer for a few minutes then it went to reading "odometer error"

Anyone else have this happen?

When I got home tonight I disconnected my battery to try and reset the computer with no luck.

When I hooked it back up it still said odometer error.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

sounds like it is switching from englich units to metric units

I think it's switching to cubit mode or maybe leagues.

I am from the land of metric, don't like it, but I do know that this does not compute.

For the last three days it just says "odometer error"

I have an appointment at the dealership for Friday morning.

I brought it to the dealership and they said it needs a new IPS (Instrument panel cluster)

The cost for the part is $445

The service manager gave me the number for GM customer service.

I called them and even though the truck is no longer under warranty they are going to cover the cost of the part and all I have to pay for is the labor to have it installed.

I'm pretty happy with that.
