The AI response here is contradicting itself... torque and traction are different, more torque does not mean more traction. Too much torque will break traction.
2024 2500 LTZ crew cab long bed 4x4. We pull a 5th wheel, not a bumper pull but regularly pull horses in a bumper pull trailer as well as a gooseneck. Our 5th wheel is 11,000 pounds GVWR. We've towed about 10hrs on the longest trip - after a mile or two, forgot the camper was back there except for going over bridges with a dip that gave a small bit of a bounce. Same will any horse trailer we pull (probably 8,000 at the most) and we don't even realize it's back there.
Heading out to Colorado and would like to take the Silverado TB but wonder what passes it can handle? Driving there from the east coast in the Silverado TB would be much better than my JK, but want to make sure it can handle many of the passes around Telluride. Has anyone had experience with the TB on passes in the San Juan Mts, and which ones can the Silverado do? offroad passes like Imogene, engineer, or cinnamon pass.. Alpine loop.. I respectfully have to disagree with you here. If I'm stuck and I have a choice between a farmer and a guy with a mechanical engineering degree, I'll take the farmer every time. IMO, experience trumps education and nobody has as much experience at being stuck as a farmer.
OP put new ones in:
Alternator shorting wouldn't cause a lack of power when keying the ignition to accessory or run. You can straight up unplug the alternator and the car would still power up and even start.
