Bluetooth Problems In 09 Sierra!

I have an 09 Sierra with the blue tooth option. I also have a Sprint Motorola Q cell phone. I have been using this combination for 2 months with zero issues until a few days ago. I now can't make or receive a call in my truck. It shows connected to my truck on my phone and vice versa but when I go to make a call using "dial" or just dialing on my phone, the phone appears on my radio display but a second or two later it automatically turns off , the little phone goes away and the call is on my cell phone, not my blue tooth system.

I have tried deleting and re-pairing multiple times and its still not working. I was curious if anyone else has had similar problems and if there is some sort of "reset" on the blue tooth system that I could try.

Its still under warranty so I can take it back to the dealer, just trying to fix it myself.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Jim, I have a similar problem, but it appears infrequently. The phone rings, radio mutes, answer the phone (handset or wheel doesn't matter) and the radio comes back on, but the phone is still connected to the truck. Basically I have to scroll down to activate handset in order to take the call. Have tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail. Shut off the truck, start it back up sometimes clears the issue, but not always. If the truck sits for 10+ minutes, the problem is always fixed. I use me phone a lot in my vehicle, and it's a pain when it happens, but luckly that's not too often. The phone is a blackberry curve. My cell service provider faults GM (of course). Next time I take the truck in, I'll inquire if there is a fix.

Thanks for the reply. I wish mine could be fixed with the truck sitting off for 10 minutes. I have tried pairing the phone 4 or 5 times the last 3 days and it does the same thing every time and never works right.

I think my only option is to take it back to the dealer to have them look at it but I am sure they are going to blame my phone, even though its worked perfectly for 2 months prior to my problems 2 days ago.

I also find it frustrating that the GM bluetooth website has been down for 2 or 3 days as well. I wanted to see if they had any options I could try in the troubleshooting section.

my 09 has done this a few times, and sometimes I can get back to back calls from the same person and one time it shows the number and the next it just says unavailable...just thought it might have been the phone? I'm using the iPhone in mine so who knows?

Have you tried resetting the phone (POwering off for a few min's then back on) or shutting off the blue tooth setting for a bit?

There is a GM Bluetooth website? Can you give us the web address?

This an old post but is anyone know how to resolve this issue? I'm having the same problem with my 09 Silverado. Just wondering before I take it back to the dealer for repairs.

Thanks

I've heard upgrading the the Blackberry Storm's to the newest software release resolves this issue. I have the BB Tour and it works perfectly every time.

I had the same problems with my phone. I had a HTC Touch Pro that would work sporadically at best, and was terribly slow, and dropped all the time. I deleted the entry in the registry for the voice command, and it's worked perfectly ever since. This phone runs Windows Mobile...

I have been to the dealer twice for this issue, first time he tells me to come back when it's not working. When I show up later with the phone connected, yet the truck doesn't think it is, well they couldn't find anything wrong. I phoned GM Canada and after a few weeks going back and forth they do have a fix, though I can't tell you what it is as some info has to be sent to the dealer once I make an appointment which I haven't had time to do. I have had two different Blackberry curves since I've had this truck and it has had problems with both, which rules out the phone. When I do get it fixed, I'll dig up this thread and post what the solution was (hopefully).
