Gmperformance 350/290 Hp Engine Swap

Hi

 

I would like to swap out a tired 1995 5.7 for the GM Performance 350/290 crate motor. Has anyone done this before? If so, what recommendations do you have on:

 

1. TBI Intake manifold that will fit the 350/290 heads (...the intake manifold used on 1995 engine (Gen I?) will not fit)

2. There are three mounting points for the air conditioner bracket on the '95 engine - but only 2 on the 350/290. How did you address this?

3. Is the OEM torque converter adeqaute or did a change need to be made?

Well the 290hp engine is a replacement for a 1970-1985, there great engines. But your heads will be different, You need vortec heads to put your vortec intake, Also the camshaft is ment for a carberator, Not EFI. If you want a replacement engine put in a 12568758, Thats a replacement engine for 1987 and up.
