Giving Me A Head Ache

Hey guys, have not been on for a while. Anyways I have an 06 sierra classic body style but it's 2wd. The problem with that is I want bigger tires! That's easy right?! Wrong. I thought I could just put a leveling kit and slap on some 33" mud grapplers but then I get a phone call and the guy tells me they won't fit because the leveling kits for 2wd only bring it up 2" so there is not enough clearence. so now I'm stuck because I don't know what size tire I can fit with out it rubbing. I have the stock 17" on it w/ the 2" daystar leveling kit and I need to know the biggest, widest tire I can fit in there w/o it rubbing. post-60514-1253018245_thumb.jpg

Pussies!

No more than 6" max backspacing (optimum would be 5.5"), and 285's will fit with minor trimming and leveling kit.

What about offset?

Offset and backspacing are one in the same.

TO CONVERT OFFSET TO BACKSPACING:

For positive offset wheels: (Wheel Width +1)/2 + (offset * .03937)

For negative offset wheels: (Wheel Width +1)/2 - (offset * .03937)

offset is from the centerline of the wheel to mounting hub - positive or negative , backspacing is from hub of wheel to inboard of wheel - the Dish dimension

try a 265/70/17, that's just under 32" tall and just under 11" wide

or try a 275/70/17, that's just over 32" tall and about 11" wide

at the absolute biggest, I'd reccomend a 285/70/17, just under 33" tall and about 11.5" wide

A guy I work with put a 3inch lift on his 06 and he only has 265/70/17 and they look huge on there, If I remember right 285/70 would be a tight fit and probably rub
