New Shocks Question?

Well, in my other thread, I said I got new tires today and installed my Dayton 2" coil spring lift. Now, I need to find some front shocks with at least either a 1"-3" lift or a 0"-2" lift. Having some trouble finding some that won't charge an arm and a few legs? Same for rear shocks. I would like to get some heavy duty/off-road ones if possible? Can anyone help? Thanks

The bilstiens are the best for your money, but be careful of balljoint angle problems if you use an udjustable shock plus your daystar current setup.

I don't want any balljoint problems and didn't know that I would run into any with the coil spring spacers? Is it ok to use the factory shock replacements still, even with the spacers installed?

Lots of recent threads here talking about that....last couple weeks. Sounds like the consensus advice to is stay under 1.5" on a front end lift to avoid early ball joint problems.

If you're already as level and high as you want, you can go with Bilstein HD with OEM length instead of the adjustable 5100s or select OEM height on the 5100s. I've not read yet of anybody putting in both a spacer kit AND 5100s with a rise. Not sure what that result would be.

From what I can tell, HDs are only a little softer than 5100s.

you might be able to try uni ball uppercontrol arms but then you could have problems with front drive shaft angle?

with your set up I would go with 5100's non adjustable. Or junk the daystar setup and go with the 5100 adjustables, either way would work.

No worries, just a note if you did have 4wd.

Is your Classic a Z71 or Z85, Torsion or spring? either way your ball joint angles are going to need to be looked at if you go higher without a proper lift kit.

Neither

Torsion or spring?

Spring

I measured before and after I installed the spacers and after, I only gained about 1.5" It doesn't look like I gained much at all. Check out the pics

Sorry man, with your setup the adjustables only work with the NNBS Strut type. I believe you are stuck at that height if your talking about shock lift options for cheap. Coil Overs would be the only option........$$$$$.

OK, just so there's no confusion, I don't want anymore lift up front. I was told that if I raised the front up 1-2", I would need extended shocks, because my OE's would bottom out or vice versa? I put my stock shocks back in and they've worked fine so far, although, the drivers' side seemed like it was already worn out at 23k miles? I'm just gonna go to advance and pick up some good HD shocks. Thanks anyway
