Yep, looks right. I didn't have the "BILF4" on the beginning, but the rest is the same as my order.

I just put those on my 08 last week. Yes, that's the p/n.

And hows the ride? No not in the Pitts, in the truck?

The ride is much much improved over my stock Z85 (heaviest OEM springs and heaviest OEM shocks) shocks. The stock front shocks didn't have enough damping and the frontend floated and bounced around like a bobblehead doggie doll in the back window of a 65 Impala. The rear bounced up and down like a streetworker on a jackhammer. Now, it's got a darn near car like ride. No bouncing or bobbling. I do have a shell/topper on mine, so your mileage may vary, when it comes to the rear.

+1

My truck is smaller, but I too noticed some improvement around town, lots of improvement over speed bumps and rough highways, and its a whole new truck off road.

Last I heard all 1/2 ton trucks have the same springs, the Z-71, Z-85, Z-66 is all determined by shocks.

***EDIT*** After a quick search I can see no difference in the Z-85 and Z-71. Both have 1.81" diameter shocks, the Z-71 does have 'larger' jounce bumpers (bump stop)...

***EDIT*** After a longer search I found some conflicting information, disregard my shock sizes noted above.

For the rear there were 4 different shocks.

The NHT Max trailering Pak w/Z85 suspension crewcab has a 7300 lb GVW (4wd) with a max payload of 1921 lbs and 7100 lb GVW (2wd) max payload 1965 lbs. The Z71 crewcab, I think, has a 7000 lb GVW (4wd) max payload 1674 lbs and 6800 lb GVW (2wd) max payload 1652 lbs.

I believe I looked a my rear springs vs a standard crewcab and they were different. I'll check again, as there are a few standard crew 1500s in the parking lot at work. I would guess the fronts would be the same, but don't know.

I didn't think about the NHT equipped trucks, but the others, are all the same spring, I think four shocks is correct, I can't verify exact sizes but they were standard, trailering, sport, offroad. I am fairly certain the offroad (Z-71) shcok is largest, followed by sport or trailering (Z-85, Z-60) then standard (Z-66), don't hold me to any of this though. Not to mention I don't know where NHT falls in (I thought it was the Z-85).

OK, via the chevrolet website the shocks on a Z85 truck are 46mm, the shocks on a Z71 equipped truck are 1.81" (46mm). The website does not describe the Max trailering package "Heavy duty/trailering suspension" any differently than the standard Z85 which is the "Heavy duty/trailering suspension" of half tons with out the max trailering pack. It appears to me as far as shocks are concerend there are only two sizes being issued, regardless of how its named. Standard size and large size (1.81"/46mm). I'd bet the explanation for the higher ratings on the trucks equipped with the max trailering pack is the different rear axle. The website also makes no mention of different springs, but I do see they are all rated at the same capacity springs and rear axle at 3,950 lbs.

Beats me, all I know is whats under my truck, and shocks aren't a big deal to me except the ones I want to put on it (Bilstein and they are on sale now!)

Andy,

Yeah, I could never figure all the variations out either. I know my front swaybar is 36mm because I measured it. That corelates to the published GM information for Z85 and Max Trailering Pak. I think the standard swaybar was 32mm and the Z71 was 34mm. But, all this information seems fuzzy.

If I think of it, I'll just duck under a similar crewcab with standard suspension and look. There are at least two here at work.

2009

The Z71 "off road" pkg gets 46 mm shocks and 34 mm front sway bar.

The Z85 "handling/trailering" pkg gets 46 mm shocks and 34 mm front sway bar.

The NHT pkg gets the Z85 pkg, 6.0 engine, 9.5" hybrid axle, 4-wheel disc, & HD tow pkg.

The "HD tow pkg" is an option for the Z71 and Z85, but all of them I've seen around here have it (mine does).

Well done! Thanks. But what's in the HD tow pkg? I wonder if I have it. Is that the Z82? Cuz I have that but can't remember what's in it.
