You can buy new ones. I think they got em on www.chevyduty.com

 

Also check other sites that have parts for this years truck. I have found that Chevy Duty is the cheapest on big things though so I'd recommend them.

Is this common, You bet!  Even here in Colorado (where things don't rust) every one of them rusted out right there.  If it isn't rusted out it either has never been outside, or it has replacements!  Ridinghigh already told yo where to get them.
