Glass Pack Muffler

I have a 98 Sierra with 5.7. I am running dual exhaust with a flowmaster dual inlet/outlet muffler. The baffles inside the muffler are rattling and driving me nuts. I am considering going old school and removing the flowmaster and replacing it with two glass pack mufflers. Suggestions or thoughts?

Just my opinion, but glass packs flat out suck! It's like hey everyone, look at me, look at me. (lol)

Do yourself a huge favour and stick with a good muffler that adds depth with some tone and not only will it sound good, but people won't look at you like a flamer.

There is an old saying about opinions..... If you read the original post, it shows I am running one of the "high quality" mufflers right now. Since it is falling apart from the inside, I decided not to go that route again. I am not even going to go into the comment about being a flamer.

I am not a fan of glass packs. I think they sound like crap on anything other then an old farm truck. While I love the flowmaster sound, I don't think you will find many that will call them "quality" mufflers. Popular yes, quality no. If you want a quality muffler, that flows great, sounds great (esp on a GMT400 truck like yours) and has a life time warranty, you cant beat Magnaflow.

You asked for thoughts and opinions and I simply shared one? Don't take the comment too personally either George as that was meant in fun. I would honestly reiterate the comment above though as they do belong on old farm trucks.

Agreed...if you want nice sound and quality...Magnaflow, Corsa, Borla

If you want good sound that's cheep...Flowmaster, Gibson, Dynomax

If you want to be loud and annoying and cheep....cheery bomb, thrush tubes, walker quiet flows (glass packs)

and if you want to be even louder and more annoying, put the glass packs on backwards.

my glass packs are 24 inch straight through installed backwards. Iam saving up to switch to 3 inch piping going into a flo-pro muffler (they held up on my other truck) and then going to 4 inch tips
