4l60 1st Gear Slip

I just changed my trans fluid and filter last week, and just recently it's developed a bad slip in 1st gear.

In the morning, after I back out of my driveway in the morning and put it in drive, it will slip for a solid 1-2 seconds, and then it's fine until it reaches operating temp. When it's warm, it will sometimes (maybe 5-6 times out of 10) slip for a half to 1 second when going from a dead stop in 1st gear.

Anyone else know what's going on, or have had this problem before?

Sounds like you may be in need of a shift solenoid or your are losing pump pressure. My guess would be the first. Do you have a local trans shop you can call? If not, I can give you a local (Colorado) guy I use, he may be willing to consult over the phone with you.

Yeah I'll give someone a call around here and see if they could shed some light. Now I've got something to start with. Thanks!

Took it to the shop, turns out either I'm challenged, or the seal for that trans filter was bad. The tech dropped the trans pan and the filter came out with it. They put a new seal in and refilled it, now it shifts like a champ!
