Right Rear Door Ajar

I have a 2003 Avalanche and have a problem that is driving me crazy. I now have a constant error reading "Right Read Door Ajar" I have replaced the latch assembly assuming the switch in the latch was faulty. No luck. I assume it is an issue with the wires but can't track the problem. Is there any way to bypass the latch so it always thinks the door is closed?

I'm having the same problem with my '03 Avalanche. Dealer says its the Body Contol Module - $550 repair.
