My Keyless Entry Fob Stopped Working!

so on my 2000 sierra SLT i ALWAYS use the key fob (keyless remote button thinger)

and recently it stopped working.

i know how to reset it (by holding down the lock and unlock buttons simultaenously for 7 seconds and if i do that, it resets it, i know this cause the doors lock then unlock) and then after this reset when I try to use the key fob it won't do anything!

i replaced the battery for the key fob about a month ago so that shouldn't be it!

 

any help would be great, i'm losing my mind!!

change the battery again. Dont assume that all batteries work forever.

parked the truck last night, went to get into it this morning and the key fob worked!

but then it hasn't worked the rest of the day. so i bought a new battery and now it won't even reset when i hold the two buttons for 7 seconds.

any more thoughts/input!?

 

this is so minor yet so damn annoying!! i haven't used a key in the lock in YEARS
