Silverado Fuel Pump

Recently replaced the fuel pump in my 2003 silverado halfton. Ended up putting a Carter fuel pump in it. I have always heard good things about Carter fuel pumps as a whole, so I was just wondering if anyone else has any experience with them.

The original GM pump lasted for 150,000 miles. I chose the Carter pump over a GM pump because it was a tad cheaper and like I said, have always heard good things about the brand Carter fuel pumps.

Should I have went with the GM Delco pump or will I be OK with this Carter pump?

Why worry now? What's done is done. Drive with happiness.

There are going to be differing opinions on this. I've heard things in both directions on Carter and GM pumps. You made your decision, I wouldn't concern myself with it now.

... I agree with txab on this... don't worry about it any more after it is done...

... now I replaced my fuel pump this year with an Airtex pump.... and most people out here will say that was a shit-head decision.... but I did it before I knew that GM/Delphi was the best way to go with fuel pump replacements...

.. it is still working... so it's going to stay there!

I put a new fuel pump in from NAPA last year, got 13,000 miles on it now.It will run as long as it does,I'll worry about it when it starts to go.I wouldn't stress over it

It seems that replacement pumps either live a short life or last and last. I would not be worried. Your are probably fine!
