Body Lifts?

New to the site and not sure if wanna go deep in my pockets on a Susp. lift because i work offshore and its a 870 mile round trip. But im wanting to run some 33" tires. Will a 3 inch body lift clear 33" tires on an 08 Sierra with leveling kit. and what are yalls thoughts on simply running just the body lift?

If you keep your stock wheels (yours are 17" right?) and run a 285/70/17, they'll fit nicely with just a 3" body lift..

with the leveling kit you will be able to run the 285/70/17 with no problem with stock rims. I did this for about 2 years with no problem. But now have a zone 1.5" body lift on just for extra clearance for my 295/70/17 tires with aftermarket rims.

What size and tire are you looking at buying?

Will a body lift wirk with how his brush guard is attached ?

It really depends on the width as well as the height of the tire. And you would definately need to modify the brackets on that brushguard unless you plan on taking it off.

Well thanks thats why i wanted to post because i never thought about the brush gaurd is hooked to the frame. Well D**N. As far as the wheels im not running stock wheels, sorry i didnt clarify that that i am going after market wheels and tires.

Keep the aftermarket wheels between 18 and 30mm offset and dont go any wider than 9" on the wheel...

Will this wheel work SK1ER18?

With the miles that i drive, what would you all do as far as SUSP or Body lift? I know its gonna eat of some MPG but who cares if it looks good. Just worried about wear and tear...

That wheel would work nicely.

If you're concerned about wear & tear, stick with the body lift and dont even consider a leveling kit. However, a quality 3-4" suspension lift is a good option if you're willing to spend the money and would allow you to keep your brush guard.

(skyjacker makes a nice 3-3.5" kit... http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/SK_C7361PK.jpg ... i just think its about 200-300 overpriced. CST also makes a 4" kit and Ranchos 4" kit is awesome but actually lifts the truck over 5". So its all about what you're looking for)

Any Opinions on this lift?

Rough Country 5" lift features: Lifted knuckles, front and rear crossmembers, upper strut spacers, brake line brackets, differential drop brackets, CV spacers, sway-bar drop brackets, and lower skid plate. Rear: 5" lift blocks, u-bolts, and brake line bracket. Rear High Performance 2.2 series shocks. Run 33's on factory 20" wheels.

For $1150, that rough country is hard to beat

I would give serious thought to the Rancho though... it's a much more sturdy kit IMO and is worth the $350 extra. I would also upgrade to the replacement coil bodies for improved handling.

I would definately spend a little extra and get the Rancho. The quality just isn't there with RC.

I've heard ALOT of good things about Rancho. I'm putting on a 3' BL with 2' level with 33's in 3 weeks. I was really close to going with the Rancho kit but decided not to because I didn't want that much lift.

I think the Rancho would be an excellent choice however
