Rear Seat Problem

hello, new here but not to forums.

 

i just picked up a new/used 07 ccsb nnbs gmc 2500hd 2wd.

 

anyhow, the right rear seat rattles during driving. i looked at it and there is a metal bracket on the back side of the seat and a hoop on the back wall of the cab, its metal to metal. is there or was there any type of platic coating that was on there when new?

 

is that bracket and hoop there for the bottom up seat folding?

its for a childs car seat.

Are you sure that's what's rattling?

 

Buckle the seatbelt and go for another ride ....

Yea thats it. i checked the seat belts.

 

that seat has some play in it, where as the left rear doesnt. when i pull on it it makes the same sound.

i have this same issue with my 07 crewcab. i actually found a broken black piece of plastic that look to be from out of there. looks like a bushing that goes in the hook bracket to tighen it up and keep it from rattling. problem is no local dealership seems to have a part number or even is aware that there is a peice of plastic in there. anyone out there familiar with this so I can get the part?

saw your topic after i posted. the plastic piece definitely looks familiar. talked to a parts guy and he was looking into it. i'll let you know if i find a part number. mine is off warrenty so need to find parts to repalce it myself unfortunately. assuming i can get the parts shouldn't be a big job to slip a one new in.

here is the part number for this bushing gm# 25879577 and it says rear bumper on the bag. pretty easy to replace, just 4 floor bolts, and 2 screws holding the 1/3 seat to the 2/3 seat. took about 15 minutes.
