4wd Fuse Keeps On Blowing?

1993 k1500 gmc 5.7 350 my 25amp 4wd fuse keeps on blowing not sure why? i replaced actuator and harness and transfer case switch and the fuse blows when its in 4wd or not. tried looking at all the wires that connect the 4wd and didn't see any that looked bad.not sure what to do or where to look next...i also unplugged all the wires that connects the 4wd and it still blows.

If your blowing a 25Apm fuse you have a short somewhere. Period.

 

It sounds like you hooked something up backwards, probably on the switch side. Pull the switch and check the power wire for continuity to ground. You can also do the same thing from the fuse block. remove the fuse and check continuity from each side of the fuse holder to ground. than you have to chase through the system until you don't find continuity. Basically brake the system into sections to prove where the short IS NOT. once you have it down to the smallest section you can and you are showing continuity that's where your short is, and chances are you will find a wire that has rubbed on the frame or something of that nature.

i'm going to try tomorrow to find the short..if any body knows where does the wires from the fuse box go to from the 4wd fuse,can't really tell they all kind of go the same way into the firewall... i think i looked at about 70% of the wires and they all looked good.. will check for continuity on switch and then go forward.
