Techron Vs Bg-44k

Just found out today that BG-44k is pretty much Chevron Techron, just re-badged and more expensive. Apparently Chevron has an agreement/license with BG to allow BG to use the Techron product and re-badge it. I am trying to look for proof of this online but if this indeed the case, save some $$$ and use Techron instead.

Hmm....Thats interesting, never heard that before,I'm just gonna' have to have a little talk with our BG man the next time he comes in the dealership and ask him :)

Please do! I would be interested in what he has to say. I'll continue to look for some more "Evidence" on the web and also try to get more info from the trusted Level-3 ASE Master Tech Mechanic that told me this. He does not speak badly of BG-44K, and promotes it's use but apparently he has found out that BG44K is under contract by Techron for use in the BG44K Product.

Yeah,We use/sell BG products a lot,and I'm not one for "additives" except the ones GM recommends,But we've had great luck with their products, especially the air-induction/throttle-body cleaning service, and the transmission flush service (although I still believe in dropping the pan to change the filter)
