Transmission Swap Problems

Recommended Posts

I swaped a 4l60e in a 2000 silverado. The only problem is that now everything is connected the truck wont shift out of park. The linkage moves, but the trans does not engage. It is a rebuilt trans. I also put an inline trans filter in the upper trans coller line.

Any advice

Are you watching the selector on the outside of the trans move and do you feel the detents?

I am watching the sellector were the linkage connects to move. when I moved it manually i did feal detents. Still nothing. I put a 3/4 quart of fluid in the torque converter before installing it and 6 quarts of fluid in the trans before starting hte truck. Is sthis the correct amounts?

Not enough fluid yet. If you fill it and it still wont work, then you may have misaligned the torque converter and broken the pump vanes off.

So here's the problem now. I have a total of 12 quarts in the trans. It now goes into gear but driving down the road is were the issue is. Anything more than light pedal and the engine revs like the trans is slipping. I wouldn't/do not expect this from a rebuilt trans. What now.
