Leveling Kit And Headlights

I know this leveling kit issue has been beat like a dead horse, I searched and could not find my answer. I just put a Rough Country Leveling Kit on my truck and I am wondering, do I have to lower my headlight angle?

have to? no. should you? eh. you can re aim them if you wish, i dont think you do though. see if anyone you get behind starts blocking there mirrors or if people start flashing their hi-beams at you.

I did, because I got the ocassional flash, but when pulling a loaded trailer, I got flashed 24/7

I'm guessing the headlight angle is adjusted via screws on the housing?

i was going to, but i dont really care that much.. also.. i haven't gotten flashed.

I adjusted mine down after having the RC kit for about 9 months. Driving from NH to MI and back with a load of stuff in the back caused my low beams to be too high. Truckers on the road were flashing their brights at me after I passed them (one actually turned on his rearward facing light that was on the back of the cab).

There should be a white, plastic screw above the head lamp housing. I gave mine 2 turns down and felt it was enough.

I marked my head light height on my garage wall before installed my sky jacker 2" level kit and adjusted back to it when I finished. Seems to have worked?? Wanted to keep the factory height. I hate people bright lighting me, especially from behind. Common courtesy, I guess, but you don't have to adjust it.

yes I think you need to lower some if going over 1 inch on front lift. I raised my lows when I bought it as low beam was too low...I then lowered them some whem I put the Bils 5100s on...they are just a little higher than factory but no flashing...I drive a lot on dark roads (deer, racoons etc) and the factory setting was either wrong are too low for such driving......procedure in the manual...

I recently put on a Fabtech leveling kit, and now when I pull up behind small cars, the whole inside of their car is illuminated! I can see everything in there!! LOL! But I only see this when being behind cars that are lowered, the stock hieght cars dont seem to mind?

I lowered mine after my 4" lift because they were obviously too high. However, the aiming screws were at first confusing. They have directional arrows that say <L + R>. To me that meant sideways left and right. I looked for the up/down screws but there were none. Turns out L/R meant lower/raise. The left and right aim is fixed from the factory.

I got pulled over 2 days after installing my leveling kit while driving to work one Sunday morning about 4:00 am. The deputy told me "you'd be surprised by the number of drunks we catch for not dimming their lights". Not worth the trouble getting pulled over all the time.
