so being bored and having mild sleep deprived retardation i thought i'd make a nice fun thread for everybody to let their auto-sadism flow. what ways have you guys seen trucks killed or thought of? yes i know of the day old pull the oil pan plug then drive down the interste..worst i've ever seen was a 09 being ran full bore stop sign to stop sign all over town for hours and it finally gave in

4 wheel low, 1st gear, foot on the floor going through the woods until it blew up... 88 S10 4cyl. took the kid about 3 days! he got it from us just to destroy it, if we would have known we would have kept it. that 4 banger held on for a long time, good motor!

Once saw a guy racing down the main street here in our small town. He would hold it to the boards and shift into 4wd on the fly in an 80's gm 4x4. Lasted him about 2 weeks that truck did!

Turbo Blue (105 octane race fuel) plus octane boost plus 12 year old Ford Ranger plus 150k miles on a 4banger, plus lead foot, mix in someone with a mustang wanting to race and you get a smoke machine. One of the pistons hit a spark plug breaking the plug and putting a hole in the piston. The truck started running odd and I noticed it was low on oil, added quart at lunch time, when school got out I made my escape in a smoke screen. I guess I didn't fully kill the truck but got very close.

I hate watching and seeing what nice trucks went as clunkers! And take a look around and see all of the pieces of $hit still on the road. And all of those people who could not afford a new vehicle and the clunkers are nicer than their cars they are driving now!

It was just hear breaking for me to see some of those go into the crusher...

on top of the loss of a perfectly good truck, all the parts are not lost as well. that was a perfectly good 350 that if the truck were totaled out the engine and driveline would provide great parts for other people. now the government owns those parts!

I've seen plenty of vehicles from motorcycles to sportscars, go the way of the crusher. Most of them were nearly new. A number of manufacturers have facilities in SoCal and a friend has a biz that often gets prototype or "pre-production" vehicles so he can make this or that. Of course, they are just loaned to his biz. Almost all get crushed after their useful life as a fitment or test vehicle. Some don't have VINs and other things necessary to register them. I recall a Honda Acura NSX car that got crushed eventually. Piles of motorcycles from dirtbikes to ricerockets met the crusher.

They're all just machines. Some nicer than others, but just cold steel in the end. My dog, on the otherhand, is something altogether different. But they do put down dogs for no good reason every day.
