S10 Front Driveshaft Removal

I am trying to remove the front driveshaft from the transfer case on a 2001 S10. The manual says to pull it out but it won't budge. It looks like it just slips onto a splined shaft on the transfer case but I can't see to be sure. I have tried prying on it lightly but that doesn't work. Anyone know if it is retained by a spring clip like some front axle shafts are? Any tips for removal?

It gets stuck on there pretty bad sometimes. Try using a dead blow hammer to "persuade" it to come out.
