Ok To Use Non-dim Outside Mirror W/auto Dim Inside?

First post here - need some technical info. 2002 Chevy Suburban 1500 LS.

 

I need to replace the driver side mirror and cannot find an after market mirror that has the auto dim feature. Will it damage the interior mirror to install a non auto dim outside mirror to it? Dealer cost is prohibitive.

I don't think it will have any effect on the rear-view mirror.
