1987 S15 2.8l Won't Start

My 1987 s15 Jimmy had been needing a few more seconds of cranking than usual to

start over the past week or so but didn't ever refuse to fire up, until now. My initial

diagnosis was a bad fuel pump seeing as there was no fuel from the injectors. Disconnected

the fuel inlet line at the throttle body and got a strong "bathroom faucett strength" flow

for roughly 3 seconds until the fuel pump relay opened. Injectors do have the positive ign.

voltage but are not pulsing negative. Not displaying any codes other than the "all ok" 12.

Any suggestions to help me resolve this would be most welcome.

J

P.S. Though apparently unorthodox , I can be counted on to provide a final outcome summary - for the benefit of all.

Problem resolved. Turned out to be the inner two female plugs on the 4 pin side of the electronic spark module (inside distributor) had somehow worked loose. Plastic plug molding was age rotted and looks to have broken in half from an original 4 at some point if i'm not mistaken.

Hope this is helpful to someone down the road.

John

Recap: Symptoms where 1. No fuel from injectors (no trigger pulse grounds from ecm)

2. No trouble codes 3. Good spark 4. Fuel supply ok up to throttle body
