I purchased a 2007 GMC 1500 Crew Cab Z71 and i have a question. I just put the Rough Country 2" leveling kit on it and plan to do a 3" body lift. After the body lift im going to go with 285/70/17 tires. Question is what offset can i go with on a new set of 9" wide wheels without rubbing issues? Thanks for the info.....Jared

A 9 inch wide wheel with a +25mm offset should work fine.

I wouldn't worry too much about offset with that tire size. You should have plenty of room. If you plan to go larger, I would stick to something with around 5.5" of backspacing.

I have a 09 GMC Sierra 4x4 with a 2.5" CCM Leveling Kit in addition to a Zone 1.5" Body Lift. Total lift for the front (where the rubbing will occur) is 4". You will have 5" on your truck.

I was able to install 18x9" Moto Metal wheels (+18mm offset) with Cooper STT 305/60R18 tires without any interference whatsoever, thus no trimming.

The 9" wide wheels with a +25 offset will tuck farther up under the truck than mine, by 7mm, or a fuzz over 1/4".

One thing to consider with the offset and the width of tires is if the tires are sticking too far out, they are more apt to scrub when at full turn and they will sling crap all over the sides of your truck all the time.

Hope this helps!
