Is This Bad For The Engine?

So I was driving up to Sacramento to my sisters and had my Sierra on cruise control on the freeway around 85mph and I noticed that it kept switching constantly betwen V8 and V4 due to the AFM, the truck would speed up, use V8 mode, and then slow and put it in V4 mode and after a couple of minutes of switching back and forth I turned off the cruise control because I thought to myself that this constant switching cant be good of the engine right?? Any thoughts? Is this constant switching bad for the engine? Its making me not want to use the cruise control.

probably due to driving your brick down the highway at 85MPH...if you were at 70 instead it wouldn't have done that. The AFM keeps popping in and out, because the cruise is trying to keep you at 85....not exactly easy to do when your driving a brick shaped piece of steel down the highway...think of all the wind your catching.

But as for it being bad for your truck...I would think that its not...may burn the solenoid faster...So it will only last you 5 years instead of 6...that sort of thing.

Sweet thanks for the replies.....normally when im driving slower on cruise, it will switch out once in a while going up a slope or something but it was switching so frequently that I thought it might be bad....but if it isnt then im gonna let it ride!
