Service Airbag Warning When Cold Out

Recommended Posts

every year I get this in Jan or feb when the cold dips into the teens, put a code reader on and no code found, but the airbag light is on and the service text comes on every time I start it

A code reader will only read engine codes period. You need a scanner to access info from the BCM,SDM or other components.

Yes the OBD2 systems store a history code unlike the OBD1 that did not. You can only clear the history codes with a scanner in the BCM or SDM.
