Assassin training

The CIA had an opening for an assassin and identified three candidates  -  two men and a woman.  For the final test, a CIA agent took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun, saying: "We need to ensure that you will always comply with our instructions, no matter what the circumstances are. Inside this room, you will find your wife sitting in a chair: Kill her!"

 

The man replies: "you can't be serious, I could never shoot my wife".  The agent says: "Then you're not the right man for this job".

 

The second man is given the same instructions. He takes the gun and enters the room. All is quiet for about five minutes and then the second man steps out of the room with tears in his eyes. "I tried, but can't kill my wife," says the second man. The agent replies: "You don't have what it takes. Go home and take your wife with you".

 

Finally, it's the woman's turn. She's instructed to kill her husband so she takes the gun and enters the room. Shots are heard, one after the other, then screaming, crashing and banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all is quiet and the woman steps out of the room breathing heavily. She wipes

the sweat from her brow and says "This gun is loaded with blanks. I had to beat him to death with the chair."
