No Air/heat From Floor Vents

Hope you guys can help a little.

 

For awhile now, (just getting a 'round tuit' now), the air blast to the floor vents in my 2001 Suburban - heat or AC - is very very weak.

 

The dash vents and defrost vents function normally, but the floor vents are very weak.

 

I've also identified a problem with the temperature control actuator and have a part on order, but I'm sure this is a seperate issue.

 

I replaced the cabin air filter about a year ago as well.

 

Do you have any suggestions on what is causing my poor circulation to the floor vents?

As my truck is newer than yours, this may not apply, BUT.....

 

I had an issue where "out of the blue" my HVAC would default to defrost settings, and nothing would get it back to normal operation until the engine was stopped and restarted....

 

Turned out to be a HVAC flow Control actuator. It was a little actuator about the size of a thick credit card. Looked kind of like an oversized servo one would find on a remote control aircraft/helicopter. Anyway, that thing was shot. Replaced under warranty, so no idea what the cost would be if I walked in off the street.

 

Suffice it to say, I probably wouldn't WANT to know what the rack rate is to replace that.....
