Bose Sound System

For those of you who have the Bose Premium stereo, does it go pretty loud? My truck doesn't seem to go very loud ... comparing them to my dad's Escalade and the CTS. It sounds good, but it seems like it only goes 1/2 - 3/4 of the way that the Caddy's do. Would lockpik fix this?

I have a 04 tahoe with the bose, and a 2001 silvy with 6 speaker non bose system... I had to change the 6.5 door speakers in the silvy(kept blowing due to age), and I dropped some 40 dollar pioneers in it.. I am not a stero expert, but the bose doesn't really set it's self apart, even when I had the stock speakers in the 2001...

the bose does have a sub, and you can tell that..

How loud do you need it to go? Are you deaf? (If not, I'm guessing you listen to music loud enough that you will be soon)

No I'm just wondering why the Caddy's go louder than the GMC's and Chevys? Just dont see why GM would do something like this?

I'd have to double check,But I think the Caddy's have a different subwoofer/amplifier.

Thats it...The BOSE system in the Escalade is a "5.1 cabin surround sound system" with 10 speakers.

The BOSE system in the Silverado/Sierra is listed as a "Premium speaker system with sub-woofer" with 6 speakers.

Well that,and whatever makes up the "5.1 surround sound system",which I believe is a different sub-woofer/amplifier setup.

I've got the 5.1 in my YD. It sounds adequate to me until about a week after I owned it. Same in my 01 Tahoe. THought it might be good enough then ended up ripping everything out and replacing most.

Hey Rich, is the 5.1 10 speaker system in the EXT as well? I can see the SUV having 10 speakers, but not sure bout the EXT.

The EXT also has the 5.1 speaker system,but it has 8 speakers instead of 10.

And they do not list the BOSE system as being a 5.1 in the Yukon Denali's,For '09 they list it as..."Centerpoint Surround Sound 10-speaker system"

Now for '08 they list it as..."Luxury 10-speaker system with enhanced performance amplification,Audio Pilot noise reduction feature and subwoofer"

I have Bose in my 08 Maxima and it sounds 10 times better then the Bose in my 09 Sierra. I mean the sound is literally night and day. I dont know why it is such a big difference but it is. The sound system in the Sierra sounds like the upgraded pioneer or alpine systems that I have placed in previous cars that I have owned.
