I have a 2005 chevy 3500 crew cab 2wd duramax. My trailer brakes quit working the other day I still have all lights (turn l/r running and brake). I have a electric brake control in the cab that plugs into the panel under the dash. I have checked all of the fuses and cant seem to find the problem. I used a test light on the panel under the dash and the pin that is suppose to power the unit doesnt seem to have power. I also tested the 30 amp stud 2 fuse and pulled it out and that didnt seem to have power either (I dont know if it is suppose to or not). This truck doesnt have a fuse in the stud 1 area but it hasnt had one there. I have pulled this trailer for over 3 years with this truck and havent had any problems with the brake system till now.

First check to see if you are getting 12 volt to your fuse under the hood . I am thinking it is the stud 2 fuse. If there is juice on one terminal where the fuse fits in then check the fuse with a ohm meter. Should show continuity. The black wire on the back of your brake controler is the hot wire. White is ground. Give me a call and I will coach you through it. 815-878-6215 Name is John

I pulled out the stud 2 fuse and used a test light to see if its getting power and the light didnt light up I assume that it would light up like any other fuse correct? If this is the problem how would I go about getting power back to the fuse is. I replaced the stud 2 fuse also and still nothing.
