4wd Slipping?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone know why the front tires "slip and grip" under acceleration in fulltime 4wd but is rock solid on the same surface with no slipping in locked part time 4wd? This is a new issue. The slip and grip is what you would feel accelerating on a slipery surface but I only get this in fulltime 4wd and on good no slip surface. Any ideas?

I have a '03 2500 suburban

Thanks!

What is the surface that this happens on and are you going in a straight line or while turning?

This is a probelm I have never had. Surface is asphalt smooth road straight line. The feel of it is as if you had a posi rearend looking for grip under accleration except I feel it in the front only in fulltime $WD not in 2wd or in partime 4wd on the exact same surfaces. So its not the road.

Its your 4WD system telling you "don't use me on any surfaces that aren't slippery".
