Led Tails

Anybody run led taillights on nnbs silverado? I tried a set yesterday but they wont work, the keep blowing fuses. In fact as soon as I turn the lights on, the fuses blow on both sides. I've tried one side at a time also, with the same results. They are plug n play, so there's only one way to install :sigh: . Any way I'm sending them back today for a refund, they were kinda expensive! Has anybody else had this problem? What type are you using? :puke:

Nah, never had that problem. But I'm still running stock.

It sounds like you may have too large of a watt bulb. You know, like it's pulling too much power through the fuse and causing them to blow.

On the other hand, you may be running too small of a fuse for your LED lights.

Does it say that you need to upgrade your fuse?

Thats the 1st two things that I would check if I was you.

Good luck

For one LED lights are not one bulb.

Your problem is either you've got some wire crossed or your ballasts are not working properly. The lights do have ballasts right?

Yes, they have ballasts. I could see one of them being wired wrong, but both of em? They are plug n play, so there's no wiring involved. My fuses are 15 amp, so I tried 20 amp instead, with the same results. I don't want to go any larger with my fuses, cause they are blowing for a reason. Maybe it's a sign that I dont need led tails! :puke:

Maybe call the company that makes them and ask why they could be blowing fuses.

That would be the smart thing to do :puke: but yea..... I have led taillights no issue.

Brims is your truck a Z71? Mine is and doesn't have the stickers saying that it is one. I figured it must not be included in my package that I got. You have the same rims as mine with the G80 as well. That's why I'm wondering!

Nope, regular ol' 2wd with the Z82 "increased capacity chassis package". I have the 2LT trim which I think includes these wheels and I have the Z82 "heavy duty trailering package" which includes or requires the G80.
