Any Good Weekend Get Aways?

Trying to figure out a very good mini-vacation 3 days or so, FRI-SAT-SUN... i live in austin, tx - i plan to go with my girlfriend during spring break - want to stay away from beaches - as it gets crazy that week.

 

if you know of some real good camping grounds, or very a place worth visiting - trying to put some miles on my truck.

 

i dont mind driving 5-6 hrs..

You can do what me and my roommates and girlfriend are doing... We are finding odd/great places we want to eat (by watching food network) and going to them. Last weekend we went to New Orleans to the Acme Oyster House and Cafe du Monde... It was great... Its pretty fun too but I like road trips. Just a suggestion

My favorite thing to do is just get in my truck and go wherever the road takes me. I love random road trips. Find a place that looks cool or fun and stay there and if it's not what it looked like just move on! Just my 2 cents.

wish i had some money to go somewhere. this place is a shithole where i live. only stay because there is lots of jobs. Dam cities that are based on oilfield work!!!!i havent took myself a holiday since 2007 and that was to Australia i traveled the coast.

Depends on how far you want to drive. If you've never been camping to Sequoia/Kings Canyon, YOU HAVE TO GO. It's one of THE nicest places I've ever been to.

well if i had more money i would drive as far as possible from grande prairie. i hate this city so much but you get alot of money here cuase its all oilfield here. i been in the oilfield for almost 5 years now sick of it. i did gas compression for 6 months. then specialized in control panels for lease sites and gas plants which are bristol, scada, and allen bradley usually. i did that for four years. i really want to get my electrical ticket then go in for my masters then engineering. i think its neat doing that electrical/automation shit.

 

anyways yeah if you hate your city like i hate mine haha drive far!!!
