Ever Felt Like a Fool?

I pull up to a Burger King, stop and order and pull around the building and forward. I am behind a customized, white Chevy truck. He has a tonneau cover the hinges behind the cab and the whole thing lifts up.

Well, it is stand up and wide open. Now, I have driven off with the gas cap door open and the tool box open several times. People honk and tell you and everything is fine. It is dark and I figure he doesn't realize it is open. And, I though maybe he would damage it driving around with it open, right?

I get out of the truck, and there are aboutr 4-5 cars behind me now, and start to walk forward to be "Mr. Helpful". I get abot 2 feet from the back of his truck and .....the damn tonneau starts to lower..by itself! I felt like a fish who just went for the lure. He leaned out the window and said, "thanks... and that it was rattling and he was cycling it up and down to make sure it was locking". Oh well ;)

Ya know, it would be pretty useful if the hinged side was at the tailgate. Hit the button, throw empty fast food bags out the sliding rear window or out and around the side window, then close it up. Instant clean interior!
