My Cruise-control Is Going Crazy...gmt 800 Btw

Ok, so today i was using my c/c going about 60-70...i flip it on and off frequently to pass and maneuver. I got home with no issues; upon startup the little green light starts spazzing out and flickering really fast (maybe 3-4x per second) and the c/c will not engage when i turn it on.

I havent looked at my Hanes manual yet but i assume i could figure out a little by using that, i just want some input from here too. I dont know squat about c/c but i am taking a guess that there is a sensor or something that went bad. Its a gmt 800 with about 110,xxx miles on it so i guess its about time for something to go bad haha.

Honestly i would like to fix it myself if at all possible...i get charged and arm and leg for taking it to my mechanic. Im planning on doing it myself even if i have to mess up a couple times in the process :uhoh:

Sounds like the cruise motor is shorting out or the switch is dying....

Speedometer Services or if you go to the dealer most of them use Specmo as a remain supplier. I have used Speedometer services several times. That is who sorted out my gauges on my 75 ford with complete 2004 f150 5.4L, e40d, 8.8, and abs. They took my gauges from my 75 and made them work with the 04's wiring harness and calibrated them right (they put stepper motors in the original gauges and organized the warning lights abs was brakes flashing, Check Engine was a blank yellow box staying on, etc, etc, etc). Plus they have fixed several vacuum cruise systems for me. They do a jam up job by the way.

There's no need to turn the cruise off to pass, just put your foot down and accelerate :fume:

Ok...so upon startup this morning the light wasnt "spazzing out" haha

the lights gone so i assume im good, i tried it out and it works now, i guess i will postpone fixing it for a while :D

also, that guage place? do they do custom gauges? I would like to try to find a cool guage to go with my blue lighted (black colored)cd player
