Tow Haul, Or Manual Setting

I notice on my 6.0 with 3.73 rear it shifts in and out of overdrive on the highway on steep grades at 60mph and above. Is it ok to select tow haul or shift into manual while I'm driving before approaching these grades, or must I stop before I change these transmission settings?

Yeah, it's ok to select either mode without stopping. Sometimes I'll shift into tow haul just before hitting a hill I know the trucks going to shift in/out of OD.

On my truck I really only use T/H when going down a long grade or descending a steep incline. When I approach a hill that I know my trans hunts gears on use the manual mode feature and select the gears myself.

Manual mode would be great for a situation like this, just put it in M and select either 4 or 5 and th truck won't be gear hunting between 5-6. And yes no stopping necesssay, you can press that tow/haul button and select M as much as you want.
