Sagging Rear With Lift Kits -why?

I am wondering in reard to lift kits, why that so many of them sag in the back. I know some people like the look of the front higher than the rear, but i do not, and prefer the stock raked look.

So, how does one prevent the rear sag? Is it better to get a kit with new springs, or go with blocks and add-a-leaf?

it really comes down how the installer sets it up, the front is adjustable with the keys assuming its the truck in your profile. you can set it level higher or lower. the rear depending on how many miles could use new springs, it will look better than a block/aal IMO. with a new spring you can also add a small block or the factory block to give it the rake you're looking for. most lift kits shoot for a level ride, but installers lift the front for tire clearance

I see. I did not know how much adjustment is available once a lift is on, especially with this IFS on my truck and the torsion bars. I will be doing a BDS 6.5" lift, so I hope it will not have to be turned up past its base height. I also didn't feel like dishing out an extra 300 bucks for new springs. I haven't towed very much and the stock springs are still pretty good.

I hope I can squeeze a few more pennys before I buy, as I would rather have the new spring setup, but I can't justify it yet.

You don't need a new leaf pack. All springs will sag over time, but not a great deal typically. The overwhelming majority, myself included, have the "sagging rears" that you speak of because we prefer it that way. It's not that the springs have weakened, but rather the front is lifted higher. I have run several block and AAL setups with no problems. Don't stress about it. Let the installer know the look that you're after and they can adjust the front keys accordingly. But you may have to go with a smaller tire than you would like if you don't want the keys cranked. Oh, and great choice on the lift.
