2004 Guage Cluster Problem

Recommended Posts

Can anyone hepl me????? I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500hd with 6.0 gas motor. My oil pressure guage has a problem and is reading that I have low oil pressure. Took the truck to the dealer they checked the oil pressure it is good. They told me that the guage has gone bad and that is what is setting off the oil pressure alarm. Can I buy a used guage cluster and have it read the correct milage? Or do I need to buy the new cluster from the dealer? If I buy one used do I just plug it in and thats it?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

I had a similar issue with my '04 also. I forget what the problem was with one of the gauges, but I took it to the stealership for a look-see. Turns out there was a service bulletin for the gauge cluster that was replaced no charge. I'm surprised your dealer didn't catch that.

The gage clusters have a 7 yrs / 70,000 miles special service warranty on them. They are part of that big fiasco involving Dephi and its bankruptcy.

Exact thing with my 04 Denali 6.0 showed zero pressure but no alarm,it was the instrument cluster covered under recall/service tsb.then my truck 04 2500hd speedometer went out and it to was covered under the tsb.call your dealer again and get them straight!
