I ordered a Diablo Predator yesterday from my Gm Dealership..I picked it up this evening all excited to try it out & I should have tried it out in the parking lot but I didnt..I drove half an hour back to my house & I plugged it in & turns out I cannot install a tune..I called Diablo & turns out someone had already plugged it into another truck..aka it was locked to another vin number & the stock tune wasnt reinstalled...So I'm stuck with a worthless $340 piece of plastic... It was delivered directly from Diablo to my Dealer....

 

I called them back but it was after closing & I left a message with one of the receptionists with my problem..I expect a call tomorrow morning from the parts department...

 

As far as I can figure someone tried it out on a different vehical to try it out & tune it...& I found a vin number stored in the Tuner...& I checked it on carfax & turns out its a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ that it was plugged into...

 

I'm going to be calm when I talk with them tomorrow & give them that vin number & if I find out someone in their shop did that I'm going to give them a peice of my mind...

 

I paid for a New Tuner....Not a used Tuner.... How can you pay for new electronic device & they go ahead & use it...How is that right?? Its not.....I have to spend an hour of driving tomorrow to either return it or have them plug it back into that Tahoe & return it to factory tune so I can use it on mine...

 

I've never been so angry at any business before in my life....Its all a bunch of BS! I would never get offended if they ordered the wrong part..I'm very easy going on that kind of stuff..But not with this!

 

 

I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at that dealership..This is a BIG strike one in my book...

 

 

Its like ordering a brand new truck & putting down the money & you come to pick it up & someone drove it as a demo for the day... You Dont Do That.....

take it back and do not get another one. Get yourself a tune from black bear. I had the predator u7194 and got it to shut off DOD and change tire sizes. I installed the tunes and did not notice any power or driveability increases. Also they have SOOO many problems with the u7194 not working with alot of the gmt900s because of the cal id's its ridiculous. Their tech support is useless, the only response you get from them is "o it should not do that" or "send me an email with your files" and of course they never figure it out. There are a couple guys who help out more than tech support on the site but thats it.

 

I just got my tune from justin, did the 87 tune with 75% tranny torque management removed and all the engine tm removed, dod off and more. I can not BELIEVE how much better my truck drives!!!!

The dealership sells Predators? wow, I'd think they couldn't since it voids the warranty.

 

I will also say screw them, return it, go get a Black Bear tune (they have TCM support unlike the Diablo Sport).

Well when you do get it squared away, make sure you do some data logging and dial in the LTFT's. You'll be pleased with the results.

+1 billion on that. had both and the Diablo was a joke compared to the Black Bear tune.

I originally bought a Predator that came with a 30 day moneyback guarantee from the parts house I bought it from....good thing, too. After two weeks I returned it because I also noticed a NON_IMPROVEMENT in performance, though it did manage the tire size change correctly.

 

Then I got a Blackbear tune (87 octane) and have the shift points changed for towing and the speedo fixed for larger tires....super results.

 

The handheld units are ok for a few things, but for a real custom tune, Justin is the guy....He sends you a spec sheet in indicate exactly what you want done...if you are not sure about an item, you ask him and get quick responses.
