Ok guys I have a question for you. I have a leased Silverado that is due in Oct. and I have a gentleman that is willing to trade and takeover my lease for his trailblazer SS.

Here is the option list

* - Navigation System

* - Rear Seat DVD Entertainment system

* - StabiliTrak, Stability Control System

* - Trailering equipment, heavy-duty

* - All-wheel drive - AWD

* - Rear axle, 4.10 ratio

* - Differential, limited slip

* - Air bags, frontal, driver and front passenger with Passenger Sensing System

* - Side curtain Air bags

* - 20" rims

He has a few mods on it.

$3800 FLT Transmission installed

$900 Yank PTB3200 torque converter

$600 HP tuners with PCMforless Tune

$800 Yokohama Prada spec x tires all around, less than 5,000 miles

$300 LS1 electric Fans and installation kit

$150 Transmission cooler

$700 Extra set of 17" Rims and tires for winter setup

$400 JBA exhaust

$500 R1 slotted rotors and ceramic brake pads all around

It has over 63000 miles on it. He want’s 21,000 for it. The only thing that is missing that I want is a sunroof. Should I take the plunge? Do you think it’s a good deal? It’s going to be my daily driver to haul me and the kids around and to take the boss out on the weekends. Need something reliable, (not that the Silverado isn’t just that it’s going back sometime) and that will last since the boss said I have to keep it for a while!!!

Private party book value for his truck in excellent shape is 19,560 no mods included

Private party book value for my truck in excellent shape is 21725 no mods included

I have a few things done some paint matching, muffler, bed cover, ipod adapter, grill inserts, HID’s, back up led’s interior led’s, rear blocks out, nothing over the top mostly cosmetic to my taste.

Anyways just wondering what you guys think. Trying to keep payment low I know I won’t save any on gas but figured it should be about the same as the truck is now.

Sorry for the long post just looking for some feedback.

In my opinion, mods reduce the value of the vehicle. To account for the modifications, you should downgrade the condition to fair or poor and factor in how much it would cost to return the vehicle to stock.

So, are you taking over his lease, taking over his payments or taking out a new loan to buy the TBSS and then he just assumes your lease and turns it in in October? If you are trading leases, you need to examine the payment difference, mileage limit difference and time to completion. If you are simply taking a new loan to buy the TBSS, then the value of your truck is irrelevant. You just need to determine a fair value for the vehicle you are buying.
