Amp Board In Gmt900 Crew Cab

I am getting ready to install a new system in my 08 Sierra Crew Cab. I have seen many posts on here about adding an amp board behind the rear seats. Rather than reinventing the wheel, i was wondering if someone out there has the specs or dimensions of the board they used and where the cutouts would be for seatbelts and such items.

OK, has anyone put their amps in a different location other than behind the rear seats?

Also, (if possible) I would like to hear from everyone who has a subthump box. Likes? Dislikes? Single or Dual? Does the carpet match? (I am talking about the carpet inside your truck, not the carpet matching the curtains!! You fellas are SICK! ) What sub are you using?... etc.

I am in the process of putting an amp and a sub in a custom box inside my console between the front seats. Kicker solo baric sub and a kicker zx300.1 amp

I have a downfire box in my ext cab, under the rear seats. Very similar to the Subthump box, found it cheaper though Best Buy and has more cu ft per enclosure at .6. It's for a pair of 10's. Originally, I put a Power Acoustics BAMF 2000/1D amp in with 2 Alpine Type R 10's. I wasnt happy with the way the amp sounded, so I got a Sundown SAE-1200D and let me tell you what, THIS AMP IS A BEAST!! Since the Type R's didn't fit in the box well (I had to buy spacers and now I think they are too close to the floor) I went ahead and ordered some FI Audio SSD 10's with the H-QTS for the small enclosures. I will be installing them in the morning, cant wait!!

 

Oh, I will be mounting my amp on the rear wall behind the seats once I get it tuned. There is no other place to put it in the truck.

 

I wouldn't recommend mounting it on the sub enclosures........
