Auto Headlamps

Does anyone know how to turn off the auto headlamps on a 07 sierra GMT 900?

I just turn the knob to the left once I start my truck.....

yea but I just put HID's and dont want the lights to come on then go off and then come back on. That is not good for the HID's.

Pull the fuse under the hood in the fuse box marked DRL.

The DRL fuse has been out since the day the truck came home. I am talking about the auto headlights. I want to over ride it.
