With a 33" tall tire, 275/60/20 or 275/70/18's. On an 08 silverado Z71, ext cab, 1.5" level and 1.5" body lift. Graystone color, black nerf bars, tinted (grey and black bascially)

Going with the Ultra Wheels Maverick. Pic attached

Can go 18" and get BF goodrich all terrains, or 20" with the cooper zeon LTZ's. I was really wanting the 20", but they are like $50/rim more, and then I'd also have to buy tire/rim separate and have it installed locally, so probably $300 more to go with the 20"ers. I'm wondering if 18's might look better with the TAKO's with this style rim. Can't find any pictures of them mounted up so trying to picture it. What ya'll think?!! I really wanted the 20's without white letters, might see if I can find a better price but $210/rim is best I see. Been dancing around with this for weeks now with wheels I wanted out of stock, waiting, never come in, etc etc. Found one I like now and just going to buy. Thanks!!

Also, both the 18 and 20's are 9" width. Should I get 18mm or 30mm offset? Was thinking 18mm, shouldn't throw too much mud with the nerf bars there.

These GMT900 trucks were meant for 33s & 20s. If you had the previous model year (GMT800), i'd say go with the 18s...

+18mm on a 9" wide wheel will put the tires right at the fender (that's what im running)

what is the make/model of those wheels?

Ultra Wheels. They have lots of nice stuff for great prices. I had given up looking for wheels, saw some nice wheels today and walked over to see the brand, came home and looked up Ultra wheels. Nice stuff.

Ah..

well then, if it helps your decision I happen to know someone who can get you Ultra Wheels with Cooper Zeon tires, mounted/balanced/shipped and even put in TPMS stems for you while they're at it :uhoh:

Just shoot me a PM when you decide on 18s vs 20s and i'll send you their contact info :dunno:

Evidently it's a new rim, supposed to be here in about a month. Figures, as soon as I finally find one I like

Anyway, I was thinking, if it's a 9" wheel, vs. stock 8", it's already going to stick out 1" further with the same backspacing (1/2" out to center of rim). Plus about 1/4" since the tire is 1/2" wider, so I'm thinking of sticking with the 30mm backspacing if they ever come in. Would do the 18mm backspacing with an 8.5" rim. Maybe i'm wrong, wish I could see a side-by-side lol. Or maybe I just need some mud flappers, the stockers are bad enough.

I know that offset and backspace are a bit confusing if you don't deal with them a lot... a 9" wide wheel with +30mm offset will not have the same backspace as a stock wheel. Stock wheels have +32mm offset which is 5.75" backspace if you have the 18x8 wheel.

9" wide wheels with +32mm offset have a backspace of 6.25".

So, a 9" wide wheel with +32mm offset (sites/manufacturers use 30 and 32 almost interchangeably) will only stick out 1/2" further than stock, not a full inch like you think, because they don't have the same backspace... just the same "offset".

To get the same backspace as the stock wheel with a 9" aftermarket wheel, you need +19mm offset (again, +19 and +18 are practically the same depending on manufacturer).

Here's what a 9" wide wheel with +18mm offset (5.75" backspace) and a tire that measures 13" wide (but shouldn't because its only a 305) looks like:

Go with +18mm

Thanks for correcting me. Offset, yeh, was thinking it was 18mm backspacing. Oops. Don't tell anyone I'm an engineer ok? Will def. get 18mm. Thanks!

Guess I'm going to wait around till these wheels come in. I like 'em. Never did hear from that guy today. I called up ultra and they answered first ring (always good). Said the 20"ers were supposed to ship out from overseas this week so should be here in about 4 weeks. Found a local place that can supply ultras and coopers when they come in, but they still charge for mounting/balancing extra anyway so I'll just save 200 on taxes and 50 extra on the wheels and buy online somewhere when everybody gets stocked up I guess.

He'll get back to ya. He's a manager now... and based on what you just said about wheel availability he probably has one of his wheel guys making calls to see if they can get them, and if not, find out when they'll be available.

If you don't hear from him by the end of tomorrow, just give him a call. He's a good guy... you can call the 800 number from the website that his email address is linked to.

And don't worry, im an engineer too but I still can't add or subtract
