Is It True The Tahoe Lost The 6.2l Option For 2010 ?

I was just trying to spec up a 2010 Tahoe with a 6.2L and discoverd on the Chevy website that it was no longer listed as an option. So I checked KBB and Edmonds, Nadda. So then I downloaded the 2010 order guide, again nadda. Is the 6.2 L really gone from the Tahoe.

I was origianlly looking at the 2010 1500 Suburbans to see if the 6.0L option had been replaced with the 6.2L for 2010. Nope the only 1500 engine availble period now is the 5.3L according to the same three sorces I mentioned before.

Anyone know if this is 100% true? That the only engines being offered on the Chevy Suburbans and Tahoes , limmited to the 5.3L only now?

Check the GMC website, see if it lets you build one with the 6.2 That would be very crappy if the 5.3L is the only engine choice for the Suburban and Tahoe.. Obviously they would have something with more HP for the Suburban 2500 and 3500!! at least I would hope.. for towing purposes..

The Suburban 2500 does still come with the 6.0L and only the 6.0L. There is not 3500 Suburban.

However in terms of the 1500s it looks like all are limmited to the 5.3L.

I am sure the AWD Caddi and Denali still have the 6.2L.

However it was nice to have a part time 4x4 option in lue of the full time options that have hefty price tags for minimal differences in content.

The Tahoe had it for 09. They probably dropped it because of CAFE requirements???

The Denali is still a Sierra or Yukon, so if talking about GMC in general, then it is true they had it first going back to the 07 Denali Pickups and SUVs. But I am reffering to non AWD Denali SUVs. It looks like the part time 6.2 L 4x4 SUV option is now gone, with the Tahoe now dropping the option.

The way things had been progressing I would have expected the 6.2L to have been availble on more models rather then less models in 2010. Like for example I really expected the Suburban to drop the 6.0 option in the 1500 and replace it with the 6.2L option in the 1500s. Since that seems to be what they were doing on the pickups.

You can order a regular Yukon Xl with the 6.2L but that is the only way to get it without getting a Denali or Escalade.

That is interesting.

Is it then part time 4x4 then as apposed to the Denali AWD?

I am not a big fan of the Yukon front clip though. I its kinda weird, but I love the look of the Chevy SUV's and not much of a fan of the GMC SUV's , where I am just the opposite on the GMT 900 pickups. I much preffer the looks of the Sierra to the Silverado. But I might be able to live with a yukon with a 6.2L and the auto trac part time 4x4.

I was thinking of the Suburban, but I did not want a 5.3. I could have went with the 2500 series, to get the 6.0, but the ride was rougher.

Ya, know this is just strange, the Denali is a toned down Escalade so I get that option. Plus GMs preffered dealer grouping puts Chevy / Cadilac together VS GMC / Buick . But to have a regular Yukon be available with an option not availble on the Suburban just seems really odd to me. I was starting to think maybe there was an emmisions thing going on, but this Yukon XL clearly negated that idea.

I had fully expected by the way GM was replacing the 6.0 with the 6.2L in other trucks, that 2010 would bring a 6.2L option for the Suburban in place of the 6.0L option , and I gues that sorta happened just not on the Chevy version.

I read GM is dropping Tahoe and Yukon

Not happening. Random internet chatter is not reality. That was a blip for a few days.

The entire line, from trucks to SUV's, is in redesign mode right now and will remain true BOF trucks. Just the latest in design, structure, engines, etc. and repackaged interiors for better space.

As for the 6.2L...it is strange, but I guess it's limited here and there at random, just for capacity issues among others.
