Max Speedometer Limit

On the 6.0, what is max speedometer limit? had mine at 100mph last night and fealt like it was about to cut out.

You're probably sensing the computer limiting the speed to the rating of the tires. My old Ford would only do 109, so I spent several hundred dollars on a programmer to fix it. It turned out there was only one tire available from the factory that year with a higher rating, so I only picked up a few mph.

When I got my Edge programmer, I uped the speed cut off and the reading started at 99 mph. I took it up to 130 mph, not that she'll do that.

why push it there? the speedo is there as a reference to how fast it can go, now how fast it should go...

My 08 would cut out at about 95MPH until I used a Bully Dog to raise the limit to the maximum of 135MPH.

 

(I haven't taken it over 105.)

My 08 would cut out at 89.9 according to my GPS. Black Bear changed that, I've had it to 101.

my '06 silverado easily does 100 mph. the speedo goes to 120 somewhere between 2001 and 2006 GM changed the speedos from the 100mph that it had been for decades to 120. Threw me off when i first started driving the '06 b/c on the '01 50 was straight up and down on the gauge now its sixty so i was always speeding. the cops have had their tahoes up to 140-150 from what i've heard

Police Package Tahoe's are limited to 135 MPH They are 2WD as well. No 4WD is going to have a factory set speed limiter above 100 MPH.

Maybe its different for the K-9 tahoes which is what these were if i remember right. plus here in orlando the cops "play dirty" using pretty much any and all vehicles for under cover cars so having a tahoe w/ the limiter off doesn't sound too off

I have had my truck going 132 mph thanks to an Edge Evolution

 

Edit: If I remember correctly... truck cut out at around 96 mph stock

Gotten mine to 127 mph with the hypertech. Takes longer to get there though with the bf 285's. Lol
